Dana O'Donnell

For the past decade I have lived and worked abroad in a wide variety of travel jobs, from selling boat trips in the Whitsunday Islands, Australia to arranging adventure cycling tours in the Indian Himalaya. I joined CV Villas in 2019 where I now get to share my passion for Europe and matching people up to their dream villas for magical holidays. I strongly believe that travelling is the single best thing we can do to expand our horizons, meet new people and relax.

What is your favourite destination?

It's hard to decide but currently I think Italy is in top place for my favourite travel destination - it has so much to offer in terms of amazing food, rich culture and art, beautiful scenery and friendly people. I recently vacationed in Sicily and I cannot recommend it highly enough to all foodie and culture seeking travellers.

Which destination is top of your bucket list and why?

Patagonia. I travelled extensively around Latin America for 8 months but by the time I reached Buenos Aires and planned on travelling South to Patagonia, I was too late - the roads close in their winter months. I was gutted as I was desperate to go trekking in the Torres del Paine National Park and to see the glaciers. I hope to make it back that way soon.

How do you spend your time whilst on holiday?

A holiday really is a mixed bag for me - while I do like to relax and unwind on a sun lounger, I do also love to do adventure activities and go out cycling and trekking. I love to sample all the local foods of the country I am in, especially street foods.

What's your top travel tip?

Be adventurous! Speak to the locals, try all the foods, put down your phone, be present and enjoy!
