I was born and raised in Corfu by my English mum and Greek dad and I am fluent in both languages. After studying physiotherapy in Greece, I went to live and work in the UK for 5 years, I then decided to return. Now being back, I am excited to start this new and totally different role in the tourism industry while being close to my family and friends and being able to showcase what my beautiful island has to offer.

Describe the perfect day in your destination?

To wake up and have a relaxing coffee and breakfast at one of the many coffee spots on the island. Continued by a boat day where you can experience a plethora of sandy/pebbly beaches to sunbathe and enjoy some music and swimming with your travel companion/s. Followed by lunch, by the sea at one of the many tavernas overlooking the crystal waters. Having an afternoon siesta back at the villa while listening to the waves and finally getting ready to go out for a cocktail and later dinner at one of the gorgeous restaurants. Finish with a sweet treat always while on holiday.

What are your top travel tips for your destination?

I would definitely rent a car, as wherever you go in Corfu will require you have one, especially if wanting to explore as much as possible since it does have so much to offer. I would do my research and try to see which part of the island has more of the type of holiday I am looking to have and book a villa around that area. Also reaching out beforehand if wanting to book a particular activity (eg. snorkelling, golf, boat trips, massage, yoga etc) for the best availability possible.

What local cuisine would you recommend to people staying in your destination?

Since being on an island I would recommend anything with seafood especially prawn saganaki, grilled octopus, steamed mussels with lemon and any type of fresh fish of the day. Local dishes such as sofrito, pastitsada, lamb kleftiko and gemista (veg) are chef’s kiss. Don’t forget to try our local fruit kumquat which you can find in liquors, sweets or just by itself.

What experiences would you recommend to our customers in your destination?

I would recommend renting a boat or some sort of excursion to explore our beautiful island further or even a day trip to Paxos/Antipaxos. If you have children take a look at Aqualand waterpark and what it has to offer even as a young adult, it’s a fabulous day out. In Corfu you can also find a few beaches that provide water sports such as waterski, parasailing, jet ski etc if you are the adventurous.
