About the Collection
Family Villas is one of the broadest collections in the CV Villas portfolio, bringing together more than 700 villas across 11 countries, from Corfu to the Caribbean. Greece accounts for the largest share of villas within the collection, while elsewhere it ranges from coastal properties in Spain and Portugal, often chosen for their shorter flight times, to larger reunion-style villas in Tuscany and rural France. What links them isn't a particular destination or villa style, but the questions families ask before they book.
According to our Villa Specialist, Sophie Caswell, families rarely narrow down their shortlist by bedroom numbers alone. Instead, conversations tend to focus on details such as whether children can sleep on the same floor as their parents, how close the pool sits to the house, whether the pool has steps rather than a ladder, or if grandparents would be more comfortable in a separate annexe. These are often the details that decide between two otherwise similar villas.
Two villas might both sleep ten guests, but they can work very differently for a family. We spend far more time discussing bedroom layouts, annexes and pool access than occupancy numbers, because those are the details that shape the holiday once everyone arrives.
One of the biggest shifts we've seen is that families are looking for greater peace of mind when choosing a villa. Features such as gated pools, enhanced security, cots and high chairs are increasingly expected as standard, with guests placing more value on safety, convenience and comfort than ever before.
With more than 700 properties, Family Villas is one of the largest collections in the CV Villas portfolio. To be included, a villa must offer at least three bedrooms and sit within 5km of a town or village, but capacity alone is not enough.
Our team of villa experts look closely at how a villa works for real family life, favouring well-equipped kitchens, generous communal dining spaces and layouts that make it easy for everyone to spend time together. Wherever possible, we look for villas where children can sleep close to their parents and avoid properties that rely entirely on external bedroom access, giving families greater comfort and peace of mind during their stay.
The result is a collection designed around the practical realities of family holidays, whether that's toddlers needing a safer pool layout or three generations sharing the same villa.
For many families travelling with babies and toddlers, the first decision is often the destination. Spain and Portugal remain popular starting points thanks to flight times as short as two and a half hours.
Pool design is often just as important as location. According to Sophie Caswell, families are frequently more interested in shallow sections, gradual entry points and step-access pools than the overall size of the pool itself. At Nero Beach House, for example, the gently sloping entry and shallow swimming area are features regularly highlighted to parents travelling with younger children.

Four stunning family villas set on Turkey's turquoise coast
A lovely house in a perfect location brilliantly suited to our family. The parents with the young children could be together and the rest of the adults had their own space too away from the children! We love the gardens and outdoor space particularly.
