Explain your role and how long you’ve been at CV

This year will be my fourth season working with CV Villas. My role is really simple to explain. I want to provide the perfect holidays to the clients, for that I need to confirm that I have all the information about them and make sure that the villas are perfect for their arrival.

When possible I also do concierge work and suggest activities and restaurants to clients.

Describe a typical working day as a Representative

What I like about being a representative is that when you deal so closely with people, you don't have a typical day or routine.

The most important things that I do during the day are to check all the information that I receive from the CV offices, check in with the clients in resort, making sure everyone is happy and talk regularly with the villa managers to confirm that all the villas are up to our perfect standards.

What makes Portugal special? Why should people holiday there?

First of all we have more hours of sunshine in the year than any other country in Europe, especially the Algarve region. Secondly, we are the 3rd most secure country in the world.

We also have some of the best and prettiest beaches in the world, while our history and heritage, the incredible sightseeing and our renowned gastronomy complete the package.

Oh and if you are a golf lover, Portugal is considered to be the best golf destination in the world!

If I visit Portugal, what’s the one meal I shouldn’t miss?

That is so hard to answer! But if I had to pick, I would say grilled fish!

The special way that the tasty fish is grilled is the big secret! Also the desserts are incredible and again, it's so hard to choose just one! The most famous is Pastel de nata and you simply can’t leave the country without trying one!

Which is your favourite villa within our whole portfolio and why?

My favourite villa not just in our whole portfolio but in the entire region is Villa Balbina.

It’s the most incredible villa, just above a secluded beach. The view from the infinity pool to the ocean is incredible. It has a giant games room with a great bar, where you can spend hours having fun with friends or family, playing snooker, or watching a nice movie. There's also a big and fully equipped gym if you like to keep fit while on holiday!  Almost all the rooms have an ocean view and really comfortable beds. Most importantly, the staff at the villa are fantastic. They are the soul of Balbina and they all make the impossible possible, to give you the best holiday ever.

Would you recommend The Algarve as a good destination for a family holiday?

The Algarve is probably one of the best family destinations in the world, everything in here is prepared for children. We have one of the safest countries in the world and it’s not unusual to see children running free everywhere. Also the restaurants are very child-friendly and with kids menus. Martinhal Sagres resort, where we have several villas, has been considered the best family resort in Europe several times. The Algarve also has several waterparks, parks and zoos that are great fun for families.

If your family does not include children, you will also find plenty of fun things to do on a group holiday; I really recommend the Algarve as a great destination for family holidays.

What would be your top tip for someone considering a villa holiday in Portugal?

The Algarve is one of the most famous holiday destinations in Europe. My top tip, is if you are not restricted to travel during the school holidays, then the shoulder seasons are also a wonderful time to visit, in months like June or September. The weather is still amazing, while restaurants and water parks will have small crowds.
