About the villa

In an elevated spot to the northwest of Lucca, this very elegant villa looks out to lovely views, down the valley below and across to the Apuan Alps. Immaculately groomed gardens match the splendour of the house within, scented with roses, jasmine and lavender, studded with small palms and oleander, and terraced with long lawns which surround the large swimming pool, a sundowner table under young olive trees, a built-in barbecue and table tennis. Beside the house, a charming walled courtyard is home to a garden chess set and a dining table in the shade of an oak, and a door from here leads in to the villa’s breakfast room. High ceilinged reception rooms are furnished in ornate traditional style and include a sitting room with French doors to the garden, an intimate snug with fireplace, and a dining room adjacent to the well-equipped kitchen. Four en suite bedrooms in the main house are complemented by three in a separate Guest House, which has its own dining kitchen and sitting room, and attractive country style décor. Villa Regina offers optional cook service and is 13km from Lucca and 5km from shops at San Martino in Freddana.

Important Information

Please note up to 28th June and from 31st August to the end of October this villa has a price for 1-8 ( main house only and guest annex is closed off) and then 9-12 with the entire property available.

Arrival at this villa is between 4 and 8 pm.
After 8 pm a fee of Euro 50 is payable and after 10 pm the fee is Euro 100.
Any late arrival after 8pm is on request and needs to be agreed in advance.
Please kindly note that after midnight – if an arrival is possible - the extra cost is Euro 100 per hour.

Two farmhouses are retained for the owner and for the multilingual manager, about 80 metres from the villa. They are on a different level to the villa and do not overlook the villa, terraces or pool.

Average weather

Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
