This private villa sits amid olive trees and vineyards, and offers a charming period escape in rural Tuscany.
Less than an hour's drive from the main cities of Florence, Pisa and Siena, this period property sits nestled on a hill above the medieval spa town of Montecatini. Once a noble summer residence, today it's a gorgeous country house - and an instant eye-catcher thanks to its vibrant yellow exterior and generous terraced gardens. Towards the top of the property, there's a pretty sun-decked swimming pool and plenty of green relaxation spots overlooking the surrounding olive groves. The villa has been recently renovated, and combines a traditional Tuscan style with plenty of contemporary charm. Through the huge antique wooden doors, a small lounge area leads up, via an original stone staircase, to the larger reception rooms of the first floor. The modern kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and opens out to a gorgeous terrace with a table that's great for a spot of al fresco dining. The kitchen leads on to the large open-plan sitting and dining room - a cosy and comfortable setting that's furnished with huge sofas and armchairs. On the second floor, there are four large double bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and backdrop overlooking the landscaped gardens. From a hand-painted ceiling fresco to a vintage piece of furniture, each of the bedrooms follows an individual, but traditional, style. There is a beautiful consecrated chapel located within the grounds that is available to host weddings ceremonies.
Electricity is included up to 200Kw, over will be charged at €0.35 KW and to be paid locally. Please note, there is no air conditioning on the ground floor.

Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
