Selinunte and Western Sicily, Sicily, Italy
Just a short drive from San Ciro and Salemi, Villa Leonardo is an ideal choice for a family holiday in a wonderful location, with the charm of old Sicily and modern facilities for extra comfort.
Set close to Salemi, a traditional town in the province of Trapani, in a quiet and sunny location, Villa Leonardo is the perfect retreat for both families and friends, away from it all. This newly refurbished property has a typical Sicilian style with olive-green tones, pastel colours, matching curtains and fabrics, and is equipped with classic wooden furniture and contemporary facilities. There are plenty of outdoor spaces, from the well-tended Mediterranean garden, to the roofed veranda for al fresco dining, and the private pool from which guests can enjoy the surroundings. The ground floor of the villa is comprised of a living area with fireplace, a dining room, a bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen.
Ideal for two families, Villa Leonardo features three bedrooms on the first floor and two more on the first floor of the annexe. The villa is just a short drive away from San Ciro and 10 minutes by road from the lovely town of Salemi and all its amenities. Our opinion is that although inland, the villa is centrally located in Western Sicily and therefore there is easy access to a wide selection of interesting places including Scopello, the magnificent temples of Segesta, Selinunte and picturesque towns including Marsala for day trips to the Egadi islands. The villa also offers excellent value for money, especially for smaller parties.

While still having a rich Italian heritage in food, history and culture, the west of Sicily has a noticeable African influence. Even with this, this area is still famous for an Italian tradition – winemaking – and is the home of the sweet desert wine, Marsala. The nightlife is something to experience, with family run restaurants popping up on the streets in the evening, showcasing a menu of freshly caught seafood, and other local dishes. But don’t forget about the days. Whatever interests you, there is something to see - from thermal baths and beaches to island trips and historical monuments.
