Selinunte and Western Sicily, Sicily, Italy
Very chic and ultra-spacious, this luxury villa in Sicily is equally impressive in both style and substance. Close to the island’s north-west coast, it is superb for friends and family gatherings.
A rambling house with raftered ceilings and exposed stone walls, La Costa looks out to rural views which bring a literal meaning to the term ‘picture windows’. Wonderfully well planned for big get-togethers, the villa has eight air-conditioned bedrooms, beautifully furnished in rich wood and local linens; a cool white dining room with contemporary furniture on an old stone floor; and a very spacious sitting room, divided into two areas and designed in stylish monochrome, with Sicilian ceramics adding earthy, arty touches.
A wine cellar, eight TV’s, and a baby grand piano are thoughtful additions within the house, while colour-washed exterior walls add a warm glow to its delightful cobbled courtyard terraces, which are home to a sunny seating area and poolside dining gazebo. Framed by big boulders, and with a wade-in section and wide stone steps into the water, the twelve metre swimming pool is irresistibly tempting. Well placed for sightseeing, the villa is just 1km from amenities in the little hill village of Buseto Palizzolo, and 15km from Scopello’s sandy beach.
Please note when the villa is rented for the lower price for up to 10 persons, the 3 downstairs bedrooms are closed. Please note that the 1 of the double bedrooms on the first floor can have an additional bed free of charge to accommodate up to 16.
Electricity is included up to 400 Kwh per week, adequate for normal weekly usage. Extra electricity usage is 0.40 Euro per Kwh unit payable locally.
Changeover day flexible (minimum stay 7 nights).

While still having a rich Italian heritage in food, history and culture, the west of Sicily has a noticeable African influence. Even with this, this area is still famous for an Italian tradition – winemaking – and is the home of the sweet desert wine, Marsala. The nightlife is something to experience, with family run restaurants popping up on the streets in the evening, showcasing a menu of freshly caught seafood, and other local dishes. But don’t forget about the days. Whatever interests you, there is something to see - from thermal baths and beaches to island trips and historical monuments.
