Selinunte and Western Sicily, Sicily, Italy
In the heart of Sicily’s wine country, this stylish villa is just 200m from a superb restaurant and is within easy reach of beaches and has open views over sun-soaked vineyards to the sea.
Combining undisturbed countryside with easy access to the coast, the spacious Villa Inzolia is peacefully positioned in the island’s north-western corner, just 2km from shops and restaurants in Portopalo di Menfi, and 2.5km from a gorgeous sandy beach. Thoughtfully designed to incorporate character with contemporary style, the house has all the usual mod-cons from air conditioning to WiFi, while its cool toned décor is splashed with colour from bright rugs and fabrics. Comprising two single-storey buildings, the villa’s main house has a stylish and airy sitting room with whitewashed beams, a fireplace and open access to the dining room.
This, in turn, leads into the smart and modern kitchen, and all three rooms open out to wrap-around terraces with covered areas furnished for al fresco dining and relaxing. Two bedrooms in the main house include the four-poster master suite, and there are two rooms in the annexe, each flexibly furnished for twin or double use, and both with French doors to a lawned area just behind the swimming pool, where deck chairs furnish a sizeable sun terrace with scenic views to the sea. This is where some of Sicily's loveliest beaches and clearest waters can be found and some of the island's finest wineries - just a few hundred metres from the property are the vineyards of the famous Planeta winery and at 200metres their renowned La Foresteria Planeta restaurant.

While still having a rich Italian heritage in food, history and culture, the west of Sicily has a noticeable African influence. Even with this, this area is still famous for an Italian tradition – winemaking – and is the home of the sweet desert wine, Marsala. The nightlife is something to experience, with family run restaurants popping up on the streets in the evening, showcasing a menu of freshly caught seafood, and other local dishes. But don’t forget about the days. Whatever interests you, there is something to see - from thermal baths and beaches to island trips and historical monuments.
