About the villa

Ideally located within very easy reach of Florence, Dimora Fiorentina is a breathtaking property in Tuscany. This historic estate, once an artists' residence, stands grandly among olive groves and woodlands, a truly unique and private property. The villa is split into five houses: the main villa, Fattoria, Bottega, Frantoio and the Studio, each offering an exclusive experience of modern comfort in a Renaissance setting. The main villa features five bedrooms and embodies its refined historic past. The ancient dovecote has been turned into an exclusive bedroom. Fattoria is delightfully simple and rustic, with a bright atmosphere and furnished in typical Tuscan style, including pietra serena stone. This building includes five more lovely bedrooms. Bottega beautifully combines modern luxuries with skilled, historic craftsmanship, with a private garden overlooking the Florentine Cathedral. Frantoio is comfortable and private, with vast, elegantly furnished halls, a lovely garden and central courtyard. The studio is the perfect retreat for guests seeking peace and quiet, arranged on three levels, with a luxuriant private garden which features direct access to one of the rooms.

On the underground level of the villa is a relaxing spa space. Enjoy special treatments, reinvigorate your mind at the gym or enjoy some TLC with a massage. There is also a sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and multi-sensory showers to enjoy. During your stay, why not take a stroll through the pine trees, or admire the surrounding scent of lavender, iris and roses. About the area

Chianti and South of Siena

Average weather

The hills south of Florence, known as the Chianti, look like most people’s idea of ‘classic Tuscany’. Fortress towns such as Castellina and Radda look out over mile after mile of rolling, vine-clad fields, spotted with Tuscany villas. The region’s major annual festival, September’s Rassegna del Chianti Classico in Greve, celebrates the grape harvest, and signs inviting anyone on a Chianti holiday to a roadside enoteca (wine tasting canteen or shop) are a common sight. The Gothic city of Siena, south of Chianti, is the biggest hill-town of all, with a stash of Medieval art and architecture unmatched in Italy.

But Tuscany still has surprises to offer, and unknown even to many Italians. Maremma, only a two-hour drive southwest of the city of Florence is an extensive and largely undeveloped territory in stark contrast to the compact, ordered Chianti hillsides around Florence and Siena that have, until now, been the major draw for visiting wine lovers. The Maremma has great restaurants, and a treasure trove of new wineries.
