Bright and welcoming San Rocco is a wonderful property for a family or couple holidaying in Puglia, with a private pool, beautiful open countryside views and within reach of Cisternino.
Designed to accommodate four guests, but also ideal as a romantic retreat for two, San Rocco is a contemporary villa with modern décor and an uncluttered style. Outside, the driveway leads to extensive gardens punctuated with olive trees. Here, guests can enjoy a panoramic seating area and far reaching views over the countryside. Inside is an open-plan living area and contemporary kitchen. The interiors are splashed with bursts of colour and there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, with spacious shower rooms. The double bedroom is on the ground floor and opens to the upper terrace. A staircase leads down to the lower floor, where guests will find an airy twin bedroom opening to the pool terrace. The entrance door leads out to a furnished dining area, shaded by a well-lit portico overlooking the gardens and outdoor seating area.
The villa is very privately positioned for a secluded escape away from it all. An excellent cafe and pastry shop/bar with outside seating is within just 3.3km, and there are a good selection of inexpensive restaurants in Cisternino. The beautiful baroque towns of Martina Franca and Ostuni are within easy driving distance, and guests will also enjoy visiting the ceramics centre of Grottaglie, Lecce and Matera.
Italy’s sun-kissed south is remote and quiet, with a gorgeous coastline and perfect summer weather that make relaxing in your villa that teeny bit better. Go beyond the lazy villa days, and this southern beauty has a wealth of culture and history that’s just waiting to be explored. Towns here are UNESCO-listed and its tiny trulli houses are world-famous. Discover an olive-tree studded countryside, relax in rural masserias, admire mysterious works of architecture and spend every day indulging in the most simple, but soul-stirring, food.
