About the villa
With its history dating back to Homeric times, its setting between the sea and the Taygetos slopes perfect for coast and country exploration, and its traditional tavernas sprinkled at the water’s edge, Kardamyli is an idyll for the Grecophile. A ten minute walk from the village centre and just a stroll through the grounds from Ritsa beach, Liodentra encapsulates the timeless charm of the area, while incorporating very contemporary comforts. The matching main villas, Ena and Thio (‘One’ and ‘Two’), are furnished individually, elegantly blending comfortable sofas and cool-toned décor with character and colour in Persian rugs and Swedish dowry chests.
Each has a kitchen, living room and double bedroom on the ground floor, a sitting area and twin bedroom above, and a timber decked al fresco dining terrace overlooking the twelve metre swimming pool. The adjacent annexe offers privacy for the fifth en suite bedroom, and all are air-conditioned. Perfect for two families or a group of friends, excellent service is a hallmark here.

The Peloponnese is attached to the rest of Greece only by the Isthmus of Corinth and, since 2003, the Rio-Antirio Bridge. The land echoes to a host of famous names, from Mycenae through Ancient Sparta and Olympia, to the Greek War of Independence. Rich in history and mythology, and largely unspoilt, it has a mountainous heart, and fringes of headlands, bays, and sandy beaches. Yet it is surprisingly easy to get around on a Peloponnese holiday, by road and even by rail. The regional line often appears among the world’s most scenic railways.
