Our view

A rather special family villa in the Peloponnese, a beautiful combination of classic style and contemporary comfort. Set by the sea and close to village facilities, it is the Grecophiles’ Greece

In brief

  • Stunning location
  • Walk to the beach
  • Walk to shops and restaurants

About the villa

Attractively but deceptively traditional from the outside, internally this stone built villa incorporates every modern comfort. Fully air- conditioned, the house has a well equipped kitchen, spacious sitting/dining room, and two bedrooms, each opening on to a balcony or terrace. The décor, in calming creams and naturals, is a perfect frame for carefully selected character pieces, from painted dowry chests to Persian rugs, and the overall effect is one of effortless elegance. Attention to detail extends to daily maid service, bathrooms stocked with natural products, and generous supplies of coffee ‘on the house’.Liodentra Villa Thio shares aromatic gardens and a twelve metre swimming pool with its adjacent mirror-image, Villa Ena, and the two can be booked individually or together. An Annexe twin room with en suite shower is also available, making this a very flexible choice for families or friends. Surrounded by mature olive groves, the villa’s grounds lead directly on to Ritsa beach. Kardamyli village centre is a ten minute walk away.

Review
“The villa was beautiful and couldn’t have been more convenient for the beach and town. Kardamyli was a gem of a place – we loved it. We absolutely loved our holiday and the villa arrangement was perfect as we were travelling with grandparents and young teenagers.”

About the area

Headline

Average weather

The Peloponnese is attached to the rest of Greece only by the Isthmus of Corinth and, since 2003, the Rio-Antirio Bridge. The land echoes to a host of famous names, from Mycenae through Ancient Sparta and Olympia, to the Greek War of Independence. Rich in history and mythology, and largely unspoilt, it has a mountainous heart, and fringes of headlands, bays, and sandy beaches. Yet it is surprisingly easy to get around on a Peloponnese holiday, by road and even by rail. The regional line often appears among the world’s most scenic railways.
