The Villas at Stonehaven

Tobago, Caribbean

From £1,928 per week

Up to 20% reduction

One of the great advantages of a Caribbean villa holiday is the flexibility it can offer. Caribbean villas do not have a fixed changeover day, so subject to availability you can start your holiday on any day of the week. The minimum stay is usually 7 nights (it can be 14 nights at Christmas/New Year), but some properties will accept stays of 5 nights during certain times of the year. The duration of your stay in the Caribbean is also flexible, so if one week is not enough but you do not want to stay a full fortnight, then again subject to availability, you can book your villa for 8, 9, 10, 11 nights etc. and you pay a pro rata price, as the villas are based on a nightly rate.

About the villa

With panoramic views of the bay and distinctive French-plantation style architecture, Stonehaven spreads through almost ten acres of a gently sloping hillside, where just fourteen spacious villas make a fabulous choice for gatherings of family or friends. The resort focuses on a large infinity pool, a bar, and Pavilion Restaurant serving casual lunches and candlelit dinners.  All the villas are similarly sized and designed, with furniture in teak and mahogany, and fittings in Italian marble, Brazilian green granite, and oil-rubbed bronze from Chile.

Each of the two storey villas has a housekeeper and a private eight metre infinity pool, set in its own lawned garden. All have air-conditioned bedrooms, and a large open-plan living/dining room, echoed in al fresco form on a beautifully furnished covered veranda. Adjoining the Grafton Bird Sanctuary, the resort is a ten minute walk from the beach, and its office staff will happily arrange activities from golf and diving to deep sea fishing and rainforest hikes.

About the area

Tobago

Average weather

Together with its twin, Trinidad, Tobago, is the southernmost of the Caribbean islands, lying off the coast of Venezuela. Sleepy fishing villages such as Charlotteville and white-sand beaches dot its coastline, and turtles and hammerhead sharks patrol the waters of surrounding reefs. The island’s central rainforest ridge has a series of hiking trails, and is a haven for South American and West Indian bird species, including the white-tailed sabrewing and rufous-tailed jacamar. On Tobago holidays you can also see tropical birds at Grafton Caledonia Wildlife Sanctuary or admire views of the coast from Fort Bennett and Fort James.
