About the villa
Nestled in a clearing in the folds of a forested hillside, its broad lawns naturally screened in greenery, this is a charming and innately cheerful villa. Furnished in contemporary country style, its interior walls are playful patchworks of colour-washed plaster and exposed stone; while its floor-plan is thoughtfully designed to offer several living spaces and an extra level of privacy for groups of friends or two families. On the ground floor, each with its own ambience, are a kitchen with adjacent dining room, TV room, and a sitting room.Three en suite bedrooms are accessed from the main stairs, and a second staircase leads from the sitting room to the villa’s Right Wing, where, at first floor level, a double and a single room share a Jacuzzi bathroom, and a spiral staircase climbs to a bedroom and shower room at the top of the house. Outside, adjoining the villa, a paved and shaded terrace is furnished for al fresco dining, and a pathway crosses the lawn to the seventeen metre swimming pool. Shops and restaurants in Camaiore are 3km away, the nearest beach just 10km, and Lucca and Pisa are each within a 30km drive. A superb choice for an informal family holiday.

The Maremma is a complete contrast to the classic Tuscan landscapes further north. Gone are the corrugated hills, cypress trees, and vineyards; replaced by fruit orchards and dairy herds—the fertile coastal plains here are Tuscany’s breadbasket. Port-resorts such as Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole are popular weekend bolt-holes for trendy Romans. Inland, where the coastal plains bump into the hills of the Alta Maremma, summer nights on a Tuscany holiday are fresher around hill-towns like Magliano in Toscana and Paganico.
