Taormina and Eastern Sicily, Sicily, Italy
This spacious villa with sea views in the Etna foothills of Etna is a beautiful blend of traditional charm and modern facilities and within easy reach of local villages, Taormina and Siracusa.
This beautiful property is set in the foothills of Mount Etna. There are magnificent views from many different spots of the glorious terraced gardens planted with borders of yellow and white roses - from the principal terrace with soft seating running the full length of the villa, a bench placed in a panoramic corner and from the pool and the first floor master bedroom balcony. With green shuttered windows, crisp whites and vibrant splashes of colour, the modern touches of the interior décor of the villa contrast seamlessly with the exterior country elegance of a classic Sicilian house and the beauty of this panoramic rural setting. Inside the entrance hall leads to a spacious single bedroom and cloakroom and through to the central part of the villa, an airy high ceilinged open plan sitting room with dining and kitchen area. This room opens to the extensive terrace at the front of the property and the dining terrace at the rear with outside kitchen with sink, preparation area and barbecue.
On the other side of this very attractive living area, there is the first double bedroom opening to the panoramic terrace at the front of the villa and a bedroom with large single bed sharing a shower room. Upstairs there is a very attractive double bedroom with bathroom en suite and wardrobe area. The gardens also extend to terraces below and above the villa. This is also an excellent location - shops and restaurants in local villages of Fileri and Malpasso are a very short drive away. This is also a great base for very interesting day trips by car discovering the picturesque villages and excellent vineyards and restaurants nestling in the foothills of Mount Etna, walking and day trips to the beach, and the lively Taormina, Catania and Siracusa. Our view is that the layout of the accommodation is ideal for two couples or two small families and the single rooms are spacious enough for cots.
Review
"Liked the villa very much; very nice property and location."
Having a barbecue in Italy is one of the best ways to cook your food but you may find that due to long drought periods in high season barbecuing may be restricted in some areas. You will be informed if this happens by your house staff or local representative.
Please note car is recommended, roads are not suitable for walking.
There is an unprotected drop of 1.4m along the side of the swimming pool with the view to the gardens bellow. Young children need to be supervised at all times.
Please note that this property does not have air conditioning as it is several hundred metres above sea level and therefore even in summer, the temperature drops naturally in the evening.

Perhaps Sicily’s main tourist destination, Taormina has something for everyone. A fabulous coastline, a land and history shaped by an active volcano and a choice of a low key evening or a livelier night a little further down the coast. The east coast’s history of being conquered has led to a rich cultural heritage with so many sites to see – most famously being the ancient theatres. With this in mind, it could be easy to miss out on a shopping experience – choose from the independent gift shops or the more well-known stores found in Catania. And of course, you can’t avoid the magnificent and varied Italian cuisine.
