Siracusa and Southern Sicily, Sicily, Italy
A little gem in a lovely location, this family villa in Sicily is designed to blur the lines of indoor / outdoor living. Set beside the sea, it is close to a cluster of intriguing towns and villages.
On the south-eastern coast of Sicily, Casa Azzura is one of a cluster of holiday houses in the quiet beach resort of Fontane Bianche. All bright white against the blue of the bay, it sits just above the water, separated from the sea by only the rocky shoreline and its own sunbathing lawn. The villa’s wonderful wrap-around terrace is perfectly planned for open-air living, with a shaded al fresco breakfast area, built-in seating in the sun, and a chic indoor/outdoor living room, covered but open-ended to catch the breeze, and beautifully furnished for dining and relaxing.
Equipped with air conditioning, WiFi and two satellite TVs, the house has a contemporary kitchen in white, graphite and sleek steel; a sitting room with double doors on to the sea view terrace; and two uncluttered bedrooms, one double, one twin, each with its own shower room. With rock bathing immediately below the villa, and a sandy beach just 1km away, Casa Azurra is within strolling distance of a local shop and restaurant, and about 3km from amenities in Cassibile. Siracusa, Noto, Marzamemi and Portopalo are all within easy reach for local exploration.
Changeover day flexible but Saturday preferred (minimum stay 7 nights). Electricity is included up to 200 Kwh per week. Extra usage is €0.40 per Kwh payable locally.
Please note that we recommend that access to the sea immediately below the property is only suitable for adults as the rocks are uneven.
Please note car is recommended, roads are not suitable for walking.

As one of the quieter destinations on the diverse island of Sicily, the south is home to some of the top, one and two Michellin star restaurants in the country. And it’s no wonder, with the abundance beautiful local produce available. As in all parts of Sicily, there is a contrast in landscape from the marshland of Vendicari to the rebuilt towns of Noto and Ragusa. Siracusa has a tradition in making puppets - buy one as a souvenir or visit the puppet theatre for some light entertainment. Or try out the range of restaurants, bars and tours for a relaxing evening with friends.
