Close to excellent restaurants in Cisternino and Ostuni, this very attractive villa in Puglia is a perfect option for those looking for a stylish retreat, with exotic gardens, extensive outdoor lounging areas and a unique overflow pool.
Encircled by meadows and olive groves, all of which surround the private pool, this villa combines traditional Puglian stone-built architecture with international and contemporary interior décor. Outside, the lake-like pool is fit with a luxurious lounge area, daybeds and hammocks for guests to unwind and an adjoining al fresco dining area, covered by a wooden veranda, with built-in barbecue. The modern and unique interior furnishings of Villa Benedetta contrast flawlessly with the tranquillity of its rural setting. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area are set under a traditional barrel-vaulted stone roof typical of the region, and have direct access to outdoor spaces. All three bedrooms possess an interesting blend of traditional and contemporary style with Indian fabrics and Italian works of art; the two double bedrooms have access to the pool area, one of them with an en suite shower room, and the other shares a bathroom which contains a classic Roman style stone bath with the twin bedroom. This property is very private but still easily accessible just 7 km from supermarkets, shops and excellent restaurants in both Cisternino and Ostuni.

If a building can be a symbol for a whole region, then the trullo stands for Puglia—also known as ‘Apulia’ in English. Think of a Puglia villa holiday and those round, whitewashed limestone buildings with their comical, conical roofs always spring to mind. But there’s more to the region that is the narrow heel of Italy’s boot than trullo country around Alberobello. Discover baroque beauty in Lecce, Emperor Frederick II’s mysterious architecture at the Castel del Monte, and total relaxation on a Puglia villa stay in a rural Masseria.
