About the villa

The perfect place to live the Mediterranean lifestyle, this much loved house is welcoming, charming and uncontrived. With rich wood furniture, arched ceilings and old stone fireplaces, the character of the house is enhanced with antique pieces, fine paintings and statuary. On the ground floor a spacious sitting room opens out to the sea view terrace, and leads through to a beautifully naïve dining room in fresh white and forest green, an airy venue for superb meals prepared by the cook. One of the twin bedrooms is also on this level, while two double rooms share the floor above, each with French doors to the upper balcony, and the fourth guest room is privately separate in an annexe accessed from the terrace. This glorious outdoor area is the natural focus of the villa. Sprinkled with lemon trees and bedecked with bougainvillea, it encompasses a swimming pool and al fresco dining area, and looks out to fabulous panoramas of the town and bay. Arienzo Beach is about a hundred steps down below the villa, with bars, sunbeds and water taxis to Positano, a twenty minute walk away.

About the area

Campania & the Amalfi Coast

Average weather

It is no exaggeration to say that the 50km or so of coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula is among the most famous stretches in the world: the Amalfi Coast. The fishing towns turned resorts hanging from cliffs or wedged into coves; the azure views over the Bay of Salerno—it all looks exactly as you hoped. For centuries travellers have paused on the island of Ischia to soak in the thermal springs and laze by the sea. A Amalfi Coast villa holiday’s urban kick comes courtesy of Naples, home to museums of ancient art and, of course… pizza.
