About the villa
Catching cooling breezes on its quiet hillside, La Benvoluta basks in mature Mediterranean gardens, where vivid shrubs hem lovely lawns, flowers spill from tubs and borders, and outdoor living is encouraged with sundowner seating in a curtained gazebo, and a pizza oven and barbecue to make light work of long lunches. Close to the gazebo and privately screened in greenery, an inviting half-moon pool forms the focal point of the garden; while, adjoining the house, a covered terrace is furnished for al fresco dining, its broad arches framing brilliant views of the bay. The villa itself is a comfortable blend of old and new.
Largely furnished in traditional regional style, it has WiFi and air conditioning throughout, and a large-screen satellite TV in the open-plan sitting/dining room. Three uncluttered bedrooms are on the upper floor all with doors to a sea view balcony. Whereas the two double bedrooms on the lower ground floor look over the spectacular garden pool. The four doubles and one twin room all have their own shower rooms. Just 2km from the myriad shops and eateries in Sorrento centre, the villa is a 400m downhill stroll to a café and restaurant, and to a bus stop for exploration further afield.

It is no exaggeration to say that the 50km or so of coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula is among the most famous stretches in the world: the Amalfi Coast. The fishing towns turned resorts hanging from cliffs or wedged into coves; the azure views over the Bay of Salerno—it all looks exactly as you hoped. For centuries travellers have paused on the island of Ischia to soak in the thermal springs and laze by the sea. A Amalfi Coast villa holiday’s urban kick comes courtesy of Naples, home to museums of ancient art and, of course… pizza.
