The South of France has always been a popular destination for holidaymakers. From its famous wine to its picturesque coastline, it’s a must visit destination. We’ve compiled a list of our top experiences to do around the region to ensure your villa holiday is extra special.

1. Set sail to discover the coastline

Nothing beats a day out at sea whilst on holiday, and in the South of France, it almost feels like a necessity. Head out on the glistening sea and discover secret coves and white sandy beaches.

Where to stay

If you want to discover some glorious beaches, then we suggest visiting Corsica. There’s palm-fringed bays, sugar-white coves and even boat-only hideaways dotted all around the island. Villa Mare e Monte is within walking distance of a superb crescent of sandy beaches with bars, restaurants and watersports.

2. Indulge in some good food

The French are renowned for their cuisine, so it is essential to experience some memorable dining. Head to Sainte Marguerite, a small island just off the coast, where you’ll discover an extraordinary  restaurant called ‘La Guerite’. Enjoy the sea views, fresh lobster, live music, and unforgettable ambiance.

Where to stay

Maison Felur is a twenty five minute drive away from Cannes then just a short boat trip to Sainte Marguerite, where Le Guerite is situated. You may consider closer restaurants, but we recommend trying this out for a once in a lifetime experience.

3. Take yourself to a vineyard

We all know that France is famous for its wine, so why not go and experience firsthand what all the fuss is about. ‘La Belle Échappée’ organises some fantastic wine tours around Provence. Drive side cars with your group through vineyards and lavender fields, and meet winemakers at an authentic wine estate.

Where to stay

Mas du Soleil, adorned in climbing plants and furnished with neutral decor, this Provencal haven offers a serene getaway in breathtaking Maussane-les-Alpilles. In under an hour's drive, you will reach La Belle Échappée, get ready for the entertaining day ahead.

4.  Head to the shops

Porto-Vecchio in Corsica is the perfect area to base yourself if you are a shopaholic. This beautiful old town provides visitors with large label shops for anyone into their designer wear, and also independent boutiques, for those looking to buy something unique. Whilst you’re there, we recommend stopping off for coffee and admiring the boats in the port.

Where to stay

Just over a twenty minute drive away from Porto-Vecchio is Villa Slyvia. Located on Corsica's beautiful blue coastline, this villa is a spacious and contemporary villa ideal for a serene getaway.
