About the villa
Set on a gently sloping hill, this fine family villa is comprised of an imposing house and an adjacent annexe, both, with their stone walls and shuttered windows, looking typically Umbrian-rural. So the very smart interiors come as a surprise. Blending classic elegance with contemporary styling, the superbly spacious sitting room has pale wood floors, big white sofas and earth-toned fabrics beneath its raftered and brick-vaulted ceilings. The air-conditioned kitchen/diner, all brushed steel and glass, is a spectacular example of Italian design, made even more enjoyable with (pre-bookable) cook service. The bedrooms individually styled and with excellent en suite facilities, are ideally configured for two families, with two in the main house and three in the annexe. Outside, a vine-shaded dining terrace overlooks the gardens, and an eighteen metre, jet-current swimming pool is sunk into levelled lawns. And about a ten minute walk away, a floodlit tennis court is shared by guests of Le Crete and sister-villa La Casetta. A short drive from Orvieto, the villa is 2km from shops in Porano.
"Thank you so much. Le Crete was absolutely beautiful and we had a lovely time. Natalia and Florian were so welcoming and looking after us like royals!"

In the south, an Umbria holiday comes dotted with honey-coloured stone farmsteads and sprinkled with olive groves—this region is not called ‘Italy’s green heart’ for nothing. The towns are a must-see for cathedral connoisseurs: there’s nothing restrained about the façade at Orvieto, yet one simple rose window is all that breaks up the classy simplicity at Todi. All of southern Umbria’s villas are within day-trip distance of Rome, too: the station at Orvieto has a fast link with the capital.
