A characterful villa in the heart of Tuscany’s countryside, Podere del Paradiso offers guests space and privacy, with a fabulous pool area.
Podere del Paradiso is a light and delightfully restored family villa in Tuscany, where a range of exciting activities can be arranged upon request, from wine tasting to pizza parties! On the ground floor the entrance hall leads to a rustic kitchen and a large dining room with a fire place, opening to a covered terrace for al fresco dinning. There are four double bedrooms with bathrooms en suite and a small TV room completes this floor. Upstairs, there are a further two double bedrooms and a large sitting room opening to a lovely terrace with countryside views; both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.
Outdoor living is equally inviting, with an al fresco dining room beneath a shaded pergola beside the villa. From here, a staircase leads down to the fabulous swimming pool, which forms a focal point for socialising. This peacefully private villa is just 1.5 km from nearby amenities in San Casciano dei Bagni, which is also home to the Fonteverde Natural Spa; there are ancient springs and natural hot mineral water pools, as well as an array of relaxing thermal and beauty treatments.
The rolling, strangely haunting scenery of the Val d’Orcia is the backdrop to many a Renaissance painting. Its cypress-studded ridges form one of the iconic modern images of ‘classic Tuscany’. The towns are a delight for architecture buffs: the Renaissance palaces of Montepulciano and Pienza; the Romanesque Collegiata in San Quirico d’Orcia, hewn entirely from honey-coloured travertine. Cortona clings to the side of a mountain overlooking the Valdichiana, looking out to Lake Trasimeno and neighbouring Umbria.
