About the villa

VIlla Belula offers guests the best of both worlds with beautiful countryside views, and yet it’s just 9km from the sea.  The location feels peaceful and private, with the convenience of nearby restaurants within walking distance in Camaiore, a historic town at less than 1km from the villa.  The well-known towns of Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi, famous for smart restaurants, boutiques and night clubs, are also very close. Furthermore, it is 8km from the motorway exit hence perfect for touring

The owner fell in love with this idyllic location, and bought a ruin that she has now transformed into a holiday base for her family and friends. The restoration was designed by the owner's daughter - a renowned modern architect - who wanted to make the property as light as possible rather than trying to keep the original traditional Tuscan style. The property now consists of three different units, a main house and two guest houses, and is thus ideal for those looking to holiday together yet enjoying their own privacy.  An open-plan living area has room for relaxing on comfortable seating, dining indoors, and preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen, which leads to the covered terrace that is furnished for al fresco dining. Two bedrooms and three bathrooms are located within the main house, while further accommodation is split between two separate annexe buildings, each containing an en suite twin bedroom. Large lawned gardens provide ample space for children to play, while adults relax and enjoy the countryside setting.  A fabulous long pool is perfect for cooling off in the afternoon heat.

About the area

Lucca, Pisa & Lunigiana

Average weather

Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
