About the villa

Casa d’Estate has recently been renovated in a contemporary style, but still retains its charming unique features, with wooden beams, open fireplaces and free-standing baths. The ground floor opens into an entrance hall with lounge area, with the kitchen/dining area opening out onto the veranda. There is also a master suite on the ground floor, featuring a sitting room and en suite shower room. The stairs lead up to the first floor sitting room with open fire, and four further double bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and two have en suite bathrooms, one featuring an in-room roll top bath. The bedrooms are light and airy, while the bathrooms are modern and finished to an extremely high standard. There’s also a study with a fireplace on the first floor, and a guest bathroom downstairs. Despite the beautifully renovated villa, the standout feature of this property is the rather large swimming pool with panoramic valley views. This pool, with Jacuzzi and outdoor shower, is completely secluded, and the adjacent decking area is the ideal spot to enjoy a glass of Italian wine as the sun goes down.

About the area

Lucca, Pisa & Lunigiana

Average weather

Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
