About the villa

Not so much a holiday house as a lifestyle experience, Elsewhere is a beautiful Mediterranean style villa with stucco walls, terracotta roof tiles, terraces, balconies and courtyards. Softly secluded, it nestles in exquisite rambling gardens, where winding pathways lead through tropical greenery to pergolas, tree-shaded patios, a koi pond and a stream, while stylish loungers bask beside a delightful free-form swimming pool. The villa extends over three wings, with four bedrooms in the main house, two in the Pool House and two in the Garden House providing privacy and luxurious comfort for guests, and working wonderfully for family gatherings or large groups of friends. The terraces of the main house become the focal point, with ocean views, shaded al fresco sitting rooms, and elegant and atmospheric dining at the long table to savour the chef’s specialities. A five minute drive away on Sandy Lane beach, Elsewhere has its own cabana with a fridge, lounge chairs and umbrellas.

50% Deposit required for any bookings travelling over the Christmas and New year period. 25% at any other times. Please note there is a minimum stay of 14 nights over the Christmas period. Christmas rates available on request only, special booking conditions apply. 

Security deposit of USD 1000 will be held against a credit card on arrival to cover incidentals and any damage.

Elsewhere is a five-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk) from the beautiful Sandy Lane Owners Beach Club where guests have free access to a beach cabana, chaise lounges, umbrellas, snack bar, WC and showers.

Car hire is essential.

Staff hours are 8:30am-1:30pm & 5:30pm-8:30pm, 6 days per week.

St James

Average weather

St. James parish runs along the central stretch of the island’s west—the Platinum Coast. Its white-sand beaches are backed by luxury hotels and villas including Sandy Lane, long patronized by royals and film stars. The seaside settlement of Holetown is at the centre of the parish: its bars, restaurants, and craft shops have a laid-back, local vibe. The Holetown Festival each February, one to catch on a St. James holiday, celebrates its status as the first British settlement on Barbados, with live music and a street fair.
