In a wonderfully peaceful spot overlooking paddy fields and lush lawned gardens, Water Lily is a superb house with an eco-friendly pool, private yoga shala and a fantastic chef.

Surrounded by rich paddy fields, tall palms and beautifully manicured lawns, Water lily is a magical place where peacocks are often spotted, alongside nature’s soundtrack of beautiful birdsong and distant temple chanting. The villa itself is stylish, modern and impeccably decorated, with accommodation laid out in a unique half moon shape. It consists of two adjoining buildings, with a veranda that stretches the length of the property, which is furnished for outdoor dining and relaxing. The sitting room is bright and cool, with high ceilings, colourful art and comfortable seating. Beyond the sitting room is the fully equipped and well-appointed working kitchen, where a wonderful chef prepares all meals - local or international - expect lots of delicious fresh fruit and vegetables from the villa’s garden.There’s an adjoining marble bathroom with a walk in shower, while the cosy and comfortable TV room shares access with the bathroom and offers multi cushioned sofas. Next door is the first bedroom, a large spacious teak floored twin with two single 4 poster beds and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom is a lovely double with a safe fitted in the en suite bathroom.  Down a few steps is the third bedroom, and the second twin, housing two single beds and a small en suite bathroom.The final room is the master suite, which can either be accessed through the adjoining long walk in wardrobe or via its own veranda entrance; there is a king size four-poster bed with a large en suite bathroom featuring double basins, a safe and a bathtub. All of the bedrooms have air-conditioning, overhead fans and mosquito nets for maximum comfort.

A holiday at Water Lily can be as relaxed or active as you wish.  Immerse yourself in the fantastic eco-friendly infinity pool, perfect your downward dog in the amazing yoga shala at the end of the garden. . Learn how to make hoppers and curries with the villa chef. Head to the beach to relax or go surfing/bodyboarding. Take a guided bicycle ride through Galle’s rural hinterland. Visit a lowland tea factory for tasting sessions and tours. Embark on coastal cruises or whale/dolphin watching in season. Tour the atmospheric streets of the history-laden Galle Fort with excellent restaurants, boutique shopping and sunset views over historic sites. Relax with an in-villa massage or beauty treatment. Go shopping and eat out – the local team will be pleased to recommendations. Guests have very much enjoyed this property, early booking recommended.

Important Information

Please note that there is a 50% deposit required for Christmas/New Year bookings and, if advised, other peak dates.

All meals are made to order and the kitchen is set up as if it is a private house so it is asked that meals are chosen as if you are at home and not in a restaurant. The chef will ask for a cash float to cover the cost of ingredients and the transport to get them. He will provide receipts and accounts on request or when further funds are required.

Minimum Stays

Christmas & New Year (14th December - 7th January) - 7 nights

14th February - 22nd February & 1st April - 12th April - 5 nights

All other dates - 2 nights
