Chic, contemporary and ultra comfortable Tamarind Sands is a show stopping villa on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Perfectly poised at the eastern edge of a gorgeous sandy bay, guests will enjoy direct access to the soft golden sands below, while the sunrise and sunset views from the villa are simply spectacular. Follow the soundtrack of the ocean through the hallway, past the kitchen where the skilled chef and his team prepares all meals using ingredients from local farmers and markets and including delicious fruit platters and picnics on the beach if guests choose - and into the open plan living area. This is furnished with super soft seating for indoor relaxation and a long dining table, which extends out onto the terrace looking out to the breathtaking Indian Ocean. The picturesque terrace is furnished with elegant wooden sun loungers and parasols, positioned beside the inviting infinity pool (with children's area) for basking in the views beyond the tropical garden. 

On the ground floor you’ll find one en suite bedroom with ocean views, that opens to the pool terrace. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, each with private balconies and undisturbed ocean views; the master and junior suites both have bathtubs on their balconies. This is the perfect house for yoga lovers as there is a beautiful open air yoga and Ayurveda studio located at the end of the hall on the first floor facing the ocean. Keep heading upstairs and you reach the villa’s rooftop garden, complete with a vegetable and spice garden and a bar for sipping cocktails at sunset - the Villa Manager is a mixologist! The final two bedrooms are past the pool in the garden, each with a private garden shower, perfect for teenagers or young adults. 

One of the great advantages of a villa is the personal service provided by the dedicated staff. An English-speaking team of six led by a Villa Manager will understand your individual expectations and preferences, and create an intimate yet discreet service and experience for a truly memorable holiday.

Please note that there is a 50% deposit required for Christmas/New Year bookings and, if advised, other peak dates.

The kitchen is truly the heart of the villa, and it is here that you’ll find the highly skilled yet wonderfully humble chef. Deeply committed to showcasing the best of local produce, he sources fresh vegetables from nearby farmers and selects the day’s catch from local markets or directly from the fishermen themselves. Each morning, after returning from the market with fresh seafood and seasonal ingredients, he can be found tending to the villa’s own vegetable and herb garden, carefully checking on the spices that inspire his cooking. With many years of experience, the chef is passionate about Sri Lankan cuisine and is always happy to share his knowledge of its flavours and traditions with guests. Menus are available on request, allowing meals to be tailored to individual tastes and preferences.

The chef service is offered on a full‑board basis, priced at $50 per adult, $25 per child (ages 5–12), and $10 for children under 5, ensuring a relaxed and memorable dining experience throughout your stay. For convenience, full board can be pre-paid and added to your invoice. Please discuss on booking. 



FEWER OF YOU? 

For occupancies for up to 14, seven bedrooms will be available. For occupancies for up to 10, five bedrooms will be available. This does not apply from 14th  December - 07th January when all bedrooms will be available.

Minimum Stays

Christmas & New Year (14th December - 7th January) - 7 nights

January 26th - February 02nd, March 27th - April 5th - 5 nights

All other dates - 2 nights
