Our view
Located in Los Alcornocales National Park, yet just a ten minute stroll through a pretty ‘pueblo blanco’ to cafes and restaurants, this family villa in Andalucia may be the best of both worlds.
In brief
- Beautiful walking
- Rural retreat
- Walk to shops and restaurants
About the villa
Terraced into the hillside and surrounded by the glorious greenery of the National park, this is a rambling and charming, rural hideaway. With accommodation split across three floors, each level leads out to lovely terraces for al fresco living, while the cool interiors are a well-balanced blend of rustic appeal and contemporary facilities. Exposed beams and terracotta tiled floors add a sense of tradition, while Wifi, satellite TV and a very smart kitchen are reassuring reminders that, though this has all the appeal of the ‘real Spain’, it has all the comforts of the real world.A mosaic-tiled swimming pool seems hewn from the rocks in the terraced gardens, reached via a series of stone steps from the house above. While visually very attractive, it is a layout which is suitable only for fully able guests and not really for children. Shops in Jimena de la Frontera are five hundred metres from the villa, and there are glorious walks and riverbank picnic spots in the national park. Horse-riding is available 2km away.

Average weather
One of oldest towns in Spain, Ronda is the largest of the pueblos blancos, the whitewashed villages that cling to hillsides in Andalucia’s Cádiz and Grazalema mountain ranges. The region was defined by the clash between Muslims and Christians, and that legacy is intensely felt on a Ronda holiday. Explore the blinding-white towns, scenic olive groves, and craggy limestone peaks, all within a relaxed drive from your Ronda-area villa.
