Cook Service

Enjoy the services of a cook for total relaxation…

In several houses the services of a non resident/resident cook are included in the villa rental, where they are not, we can usually arrange one if required.

This gives everyone the opportunity to really relax whilst away. Cooking usually consists of simple traditional food, generally prepared in the villa. Usually they will prepare one main meal a day, and assist with laying/clearing up.

Hours available, days of work and standards of cooking vary, and they do not always do shopping, or provide transport to do so, both which may carry an extra charge. Where maids are also doubling up as cooks, few will stay to wash up and serve meals. Full details can be clarified fully on booking.

When an airport transfer is not included in the price of your holiday they can be organised for a fee and will be payable locally. The majority of transfers are supplied villa owners or by our local agents who will provide a vehicle suitable for the number of people travelling, with one suitcase, and one item of hold luggage per passenger. If you have excess baggage, or special requirements, please advise your Travel Expert.

Food & Provisions

If a cook is included, or has been hired, they and the house staff will usually shop for provisions as required, and guests will be expected to reimburse them locally (except for meals that are included).

Some staff do not have access to transport and may add their travel costs, or a percentage to cover their time.

Please be aware that few staff have a money float and that they will be using their own money, so it is important to try to pay them back on a regular basis.

Alcohol is widely available in Islamic countries, and can usually be purchased easily, either by guests, or by the house staff.

However, because most household staff are Muslims they are not allowed to purchase alcohol during the month of Ramadan. At this time we can either arrange for required quantities to be purchased in advance of the Holy Month, or we can arrange for a non-Muslim to shop on guests’ behalf, for an extra charge.

special requests

If you are going on holiday to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, speak to one of our travel experts about your requirements. We can help to arrange everything from Champagne on arrival to a pre-arrival grocery shop. See individual villa pages for further information.
