For a really relaxing spell in the country, a more spacious, elegant villa would be hard to find. A rather grown-up hideaway, this villa has been built with flair and style, creating very contemporary interiors beneath the vaulted ceilings.
With lots of wood and crisp linen furnishings, its calm, uncluttered rooms are set in a cross plan with the dining table in the centre, a library cum sitting room and a TV room on other side and a well equipped kitchen. There are three rustic-chic bedrooms, each with en suite shower room, one of which has twin beds. Outside there is a superb dining terrace with cushioned seating and a path lined with agapanthus leads to the guest annexe. There are glorious views from the upper roof terrace.
The charming village of Spongano, with an excellent restaurant, Trattoria Picalo, is well worth visiting. This is a very central location for those who would like to enjoy wonderful inexpensive restaurants, stunning coastline, beaches, beach clubs and picturesque historic towns of Castro, Otranto, Gallipoli in this quiet and unspoilt corner of southern Italy.
