Close to the charming village of Spongano, this charming villa in Puglia blends old world elegance with modern comfort, and boasts exstensive lawned gardens, a large pool and private tennis court.
Le More is set on as private country estate of 24 acres, close to the coast, mid-way between Otranto and Santa Maria de Leuca, just 2km from restaurants and shops in the village of Spongano. Formerly a hunting lodge, the lovely old house has been transformed to offer high standards of comfort. Beautifully furnished in traditional style, its creamy white walls form a blank canvas for tapestries, rugs and eclectic paintings. Big sofas and quiet lamp-lit corners adorn the living areas, a charmingly rustic kitchen diner is fitted with modern appliances, and wrought iron beds bring character to stylishly simple but spacious guest rooms, with five in the main house and one in a separate garden cottage, each complete with air conditioning and its own shower room. A second cottage will be newly available for the 2020 season. Affording equal emphasis to al fresco living, the house boasts a romantically styled dining terrace set in garden courtyard, a roof-top gazebo overlooking the gorgeous gardens of 4 acres, and a sail-shaded sitting area, gazing out through the olive grove. A pergola pathway, cloaked in roses, crosses the lawns beside the large swimming pool, and a private tennis court (English speaking coach available on request) shares the grounds with citrus and cherry trees. The property also has a kitchen garden. The charming village of Spongano is approximately a flat 20 minute walk from the property for energetic walkers.
This fascinating property is much appreciated by CV clients for the consistent standard of the bedrooms and shower rooms, the privacy and the quiet surroundings, the excellent service offered by the villa staff and the excellent inexpensive restaurants in Spongano, in the surrounding villages and at the coast.
Please note any late arrivals between 2000 hrs - 2200 hrs are on request. If it is possible there is a fee of €30 payable locally in cash.
Please note that the steps to the roof terrace are open on one side. The roof terrace itself has very low walls. This area is therefore not suitable for young children.
Please note for occupancies up to 12, the Pool Studio will be closed

If a building can be a symbol for a whole region, then the trullo stands for Puglia—also known as ‘Apulia’ in English. Think of a Puglia villa holiday and those round, whitewashed limestone buildings with their comical, conical roofs always spring to mind. But there’s more to the region that is the narrow heel of Italy’s boot than trullo country around Alberobello. Discover baroque beauty in Lecce, Emperor Frederick II’s mysterious architecture at the Castel del Monte, and total relaxation on a Puglia villa stay in a rural Masseria.

Having a barbecue in Italy is one of the best ways to cook your food but you may find that due to long drought periods in high season barbecuing may be restricted in some areas. You will be informed if this happens by your house staff or local representative.
