About the villa
Set high on the hill to catch the breezes and enjoy the brilliant views, this modern house is spacious, comfortable and cool, in both senses of the word. With bright, bold artworks by its talented owner, and a vibrant use of colour in its décor and furnishings, the villa has a large screen TV with USB ports for music and films, and each of its double bedrooms has air conditioning and its own high-quality shower room. The heart of the house is an open-plan living room, with kitchen, dining and sitting areas, exposed stone walls, and a high raftered ceiling. And doors lead out from here to the sunny terrace, where an inviting infinity pool is joined by ample loungers; and a poolside dining gazebo and built-in barbecue encourage leisurely lunches that last for hours. With shops and some excellent tavernas around the lovely harbour, Gaios village centre is just a short drive away, as is the pretty Gianna Beach. An excellent choice for two couples, Villa Viola is close to a sister-villa, Sunrise, also featured by CV Villas, and the two could be booked together for larger groups of friends.

Paxos is so small—about twelve kilometres long and four kilometres wide—that a practised walker could explore virtually the whole island without the aid of bike, taxi, or bus. Its population—about 2,300 permanent residents living in Gaios, Loggos, Lakka, and a scattering of tiny hamlets—is about that of a small village: you could get to know most of them personally. Still unspoilt and covered in olive and pine trees, it attracts people who come to unwind, to get away from it all. It is popular with itinerant yachting folk, a magnet for visitors from Corfu and from the mainland resort of Parga, who arrive by ferry or hydrofoil. Villas in Paxos provide a fantastic, self-sufficient base to explore this laid-back, cool and beautiful island.
