About the villa
The harbour-front restaurants of Gaios are just 3km to the south; water’s edge tavernas in Loggos and Lakka are both within a 7km drive north; and there is a peaceful shingle beach a mere fifty metres from this comfortable house, so guests are soon in tune with the island’s easy tempo. Facing the sunrise on seafront slopes, Villa Estia looks out over treetops to mesmerising panoramas, of the channel, its ever-changing flotilla of little ships and sailing boats, and across to the heat-hazed outlines of the mainland’s mountains. Perfectly positioned to enjoy the soporific scenery, a broad terrace runs the length of the villa, furnished for al fresco dining and cooled with dappled shade; and loungers are set behind the swimming pool.
Within the house, the country style kitchen has a full window wall opening out to the terrace, and there are double doors too from the cool-toned living room. Simply styled bedrooms open out to a terrace or balcony, two bedrooms at ground level, two on the upper floor, and all with air conditioning. And the light and airy house has satellite TV, WiFi, and a built-in barbecue.

Paxos is so small—about twelve kilometres long and four kilometres wide—that a practised walker could explore virtually the whole island without the aid of bike, taxi, or bus. Its population—about 2,300 permanent residents living in Gaios, Loggos, Lakka, and a scattering of tiny hamlets—is about that of a small village: you could get to know most of them personally. Still unspoilt and covered in olive and pine trees, it attracts people who come to unwind, to get away from it all. It is popular with itinerant yachting folk, a magnet for visitors from Corfu and from the mainland resort of Parga, who arrive by ferry or hydrofoil. Villas in Paxos provide a fantastic, self-sufficient base to explore this laid-back, cool and beautiful island.

Recommended for large groups, avoiding slow ferry services and when travel arrangements do not coincide with our scheduled transfers. The Paxos Express may be booked to provide transfers to and from Corfu Town to Gaios.
Small boats and speedboats can be pre-booked prior to departure. Early reservations are recommended especially in July and August. UK boat licences will no longer be valid in Europe from January 2021 due to Brexit. Smaller size boats can still be hired without a licence which remains unchanged.
