About the villa

The stone exterior of this well-placed house is an imposing edifice, with a two-storey semi-circular tower curved around one corner. Traditional, sturdy and unembellished, it gives no clue of the fabulously stylish, faintly whimsical, completely contemporary interiors. Placed for privacy across four floors, and each with its own distinctive bath or shower room, the villa’s five uncluttered bedrooms are furnished in minimal monochrome, in sharp contrast to the décor choice of its social spaces. A breakfast room, on the tower’s ground floor, has a wrap-around modern-abstract frescoed wall; while the first floor dining room is lit by a quirky spotlight cluster and brightly styled with chairs in a clash of colours, echoed in the adjoining sitting room. The fully equipped kitchen is a sleek steel arrangement, and Villa Byron also boasts a wine cellar and a sauna. There are exquisite sea and sunset views from the rounded roof terrace of the tower, accessed from a second floor bedroom; and down at ground level, a pool with Jacuzzi is joined by a sunny dining terrace. All this is just 500m from shops and cafés in Dubrovnik and from Banje pebble beach.

About the area

Dubrovnik

Average weather

Within almost 2,000 metres of stone wall built to protect its treasures sits one of the world’s most stunning cities – a place where an abundance of history, museums bursting with art, baroque architecture and marble streets full of interest prevail. There are some places that charm, while others leave a lasting impression. A Dubrovnik holiday is firmly the latter, making it no surprise the returning visitor is left as enchanted as the first-timer while, all around, a distinctive Mediterranean lifestyle and the sparkling Adriatic provide an ever-present backdrop.
