1. Whale watching in Mirissa


The Indian Ocean is full of fascinating creatures, including the world’s largest mammal - the blue whale. Set sail from Mirissa as the sun rises with your own captain and on-board naturalist who will help you catch a glimpse of whales, dolphins, whale sharks and more. The best time to go whale watching is from November to April, as this is when the whales will be migrating from the southern to the northern hemisphere.

2.  Day tour to Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara

An ideal spot for keen explorers, the cave temples of Mulkirigala are some of the best-preserved rock temples in Sri Lanka. 3. Heritage Galle and Turtle Conservatory

Known for its 17th century Portuguese fort, Galle is a historic city bound to provide a memorable day out. Galle is also very close to Koslanda, home to the Turtle Conservation Project. Here, you’ll learn about five species of turtle that nest in Sri Lanka. The project is designed to protect the species as well as educate the local community.

4. Yala Park Safari

5. Bird watching safari in Bundala


The wetlands and lagoons of Bundala are home to 197 different bird species. This beautiful UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve can be explored on a fascinating bird watching safari. You’ll have more than enough time to explore and take photos of a range of local and migratory birds as well as stunning landscapes. Make sure to bring your binoculars!
