Blissfully tranquil, wonderfully welcoming and totally undisturbed, this is a lovely villa in the heart of Corfu’s rural highlands, an elegant blend of comfort and country house charm.

About the villa

Supremely secluded on the crest of a hill, with serene views over olive groves to the Ionian Sea, this is a much loved family villa, furnished for comfort with colourful rugs and cushions, shelves stuffed with books, and an eclectic collection of pictures and artefacts. In classic Corfiot style, the house has whitewashed walls and forest green shutters, a lovey furnished veranda adorned with flower-filled pots and planters, and gardens with pretty patios and quiet corners for al fresco dining or lounging in leaf-dappled shade; all redolent of its 18th century origins.But careful restoration has added contemporary facilities, a ten metre infinity pool topping the list, set in a sunny sea-view terrace. With a very relaxing atmosphere, the villa has four bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom and a charming sitting/dining room opening on to outdoor terraces.. Approached via a quiet road from the coast, Kokkokila is just 7km from St Stephano harbour, Avlaki beach and Kassiopi’s nightlife.

Important Information

Please note that the area around the swimming pool has extended to include a covered outside kitchen and dining area and a large comfortable seating area. We hope to have new photographs of the house in Spring.

Up until 4th July and from 30th August onwards, the annexe bedroom will be locked for bookings for 6 people or fewer and available at a supplement – please ask for more details. From 5th July – 29th August 2021 all bedrooms will be open for any group size.

Please note that the swinging chair in pictures 1, 3 and 6 in the gallery has now been replaced with a three-seater chair.

Average weather

An old stone village high in the hills behind the coast between Kalami and St Stephano, Kokkokilas is about fifteen minutes’ drive from the sea. It stands on the cusp between olive groves that thrive at a lower altitude, and the almond trees, open hillside, and vineyards of the mountain. Largely contained in a loop of the mountain road approach, the air is cool, the area quiet enough to hear the bees and the cicadas, and the views on a Kokkokilas holiday down across the coast to the mountains of Albania are to die for.

There is no better way to explore the coastline and discover deserted bays and coves with their translucent water to add to the overall enjoyment of your holiday. Small boats and speedboats can be pre-booked with our UK office and we recommend early reservations, especially in July and August, as availability is limited. Smaller size boats can still be hired without a licence which remains unchanged.
