Polly Gould

I joined CV Villas in November 2025. As a Barbados expert selling holidays to Barbados for over 35 years, and with over 45 visits to the island, I bring a wealth of first-hand knowledge. I was raised on the Isle of Wight in the UK, which coincidentally is the same size as Barbados, so you’ll often find me island hopping also known as being an island girl! With great passion and extensive knowledge of Barbados and other islands, I am excited to have joined the CV Villas team as a Caribbean Expert. I’m thrilled to share my love and enthusiasm for the island, which I could talk about all day long, along with the beauty it brings.

Favourite destination?

Barbados. I love everything about it. Many people feel the same way; it gets under your skin, and you find yourself returning again and again. The locals truly make it a very happy island.

Destination on my bucket list and why?

I would love to visit Italy or Greece one day to explore their cultures. New Zealand is also on my list; I would love to hire a camper van and take in all the beautiful scenery.

How I spend my time on holiday?

I am always on the beach walking. It is the best way to get a tan while enjoying a cool Caribbean breeze. I also love swimming, which feels truly medicinal, and the occasional water-ski to prove I can still do it like I used to!

Top travel tip?

Sunday Caboose! Enjoy the local vibes with a fish cutter, rum punch, and reggae. Just be sure to get there by midday. Also, remember not to wear camouflage in Barbados, and note that USD $1 bills and any damaged or marked notes are not accepted.

Favourite Villa?

I’ve yet to see them all in Barbados; however, it’s bound to be one of the crème de la crème on the Platinum West Coast modern in design with a private gate to the beach. Crystal Springs, Leamington Pavilion, or Footprints are top contenders.
