I’m half Corfiot and have spent every summer on the island since childhood, so Corfu has always felt like home. Over the years, I’ve come to know its landscapes, people, and traditions, and working in hospitality has allowed me to share that connection with others. Experiencing Corfu from both a local and guest perspective gives me a genuine understanding of what makes a stay here so special. I love helping visitors discover the island’s authentic beauty, warm culture, and unforgettable moments.
Describe the perfect day in your destination?
My perfect day in Corfu starts with an early swim in Kalami Bay as the sun rises, followed by breakfast by the sea. I’d walk the coastal path to Kouloura and Agni, then take a boat to hidden coves for lunch at a taverna only reachable by sea. The afternoon is for resting under olive trees or by the pool, before watching sunset from a mountain viewpoint above Kalami. The day ends with dinner by the bay, listening to the waves and cicadas - simple, warm, and connected to nature.
What are your top travel tips for your destination?
What local cuisine would you recommend to people staying in your destination?
Corfu’s cuisine is a delicious blend of Greek and Venetian influences. Must-try dishes include sofrito, thinly sliced veal in a white wine and garlic sauce; pastitsada, slow-cooked rooster or beef in a spiced tomato sauce with pasta; and bourdeto, a fisherman’s favourite of scorpionfish or cod in red pepper and tomato sauce. Don’t miss Greek pies like spanakopita (spinach) and loukanikopita (sausage) for a quick breakfast. And of course, enjoy fresh fish and meze by the sea, best shared with local wine and good company.
What experiences would you recommend to our customers in your destination?
Spend a private boat day from San Stefano or Kouloura, exploring the bays down to Agni and Nissaki, with lunch at a coastal taverna for the full Corfu experience. Hike from Kalami to Old Perithia, one of the island’s oldest mountain villages, followed by lunch in the village square. Visit Corfu Town to wander the Liston, explore Venetian alleys, and soak in its UNESCO-listed charm, with optional wine tasting and olive oil tours in the countryside. Finish the day with sunset cocktails in Kassiopi, a quiet swim in Kouloura Bay, or an early morning yoga session by the sea.
