Nestled amongst swaying palms sits Peacock Cottage. Situated all on one floor, is a sitting room and dining area with colourful furnishings that complement the traditional Sri Lankan interiors. Adjacent to the sitting area there are two bedrooms with magnificent four poster king sized beds, each with an en suite shower room.

As you make your way outside you will find a veranda, to cosy up and enjoy the scenic views, whilst taking in the gentle sounds of the ocean. A few steps down to the well manicured gardens, guests can make use of the pool, outside shower and hammocks. Or, venture down a private path to Mawella Beach, a sandy long bay.  The staff will delight in preparing the most delicious meals for guests with fresh tropical fruit and seafood that is straight from the Indian Ocean and menus are available on request.

You can choose to be as relaxed or active as you wish. Stroll along the neighbouring beach and enjoy an evening cocktail at Halcyon Mawella. Eat out or surf at the lively bay of Hiriketiya, a short drive away. You can also visit Mulgirigala, a sacred Buddhist site inland from Tangalle, travel to Rekawa to observe nesting marine turtles at night and enjoy an evening's visit to the tranquil bird sanctuary at Kalametiya where you will be guided, by boat, along the lagoon in the company of one of Sri Lanka's foremost bird experts. Guest also enjoy whale and dolphin watching at Mirissa (seasonal), seeking out wildlife on a day safari to Udawalawe or Yala national parks. A day trip to Galle is also recommended to explore the historic Dutch fort on foot or shop and dine.
