About the villa
Located between the hills of Volterra you will find this luxury holiday home created by an Italian/Scandinavian couple. As you enter the house you can feel the influence of the Scandinavian origins, elegant asoft colours, wooden floors and large windows - a home created for the owners themselves. A large open plan area greets you on arrival with the living dining and kitchen spaces which surround the beautiful, unique wooden staircase in the centre of the room. The cosy sitting area with open fireplace with sofas and arm chairs, a second smaller TV area, a dining area with large wooden table and the fully equipped kitchen area with all modern appliances. There is a covered terrace with spectacular views of Volterra in the distance where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning or evening aperitifs. This villa is a dream for those seeking relaxation and enjoyment of luxury comfortable furnishings in a peaceful beautiful Tuscan setting. The upstairs bedrooms all have ensuite shower rooms with walk in showers and luxury bathroom amenities, the downstairs bedroom has a bathroom also suitable for less able guests. A homely feeling with soft light colours and beautiful materials.
The pool is perfect for families with small children as it has a small sloping "beach" area at one end with 20 cm deep, or for adults who love to lie in the low water while sun bathing. The gardens and pool area are surrounded by flowers and shrubs together with the spectacular 360' views over the countryside. From the house there are two sliding glass doors which open out to the covered terrace where there is a long table, sofas and path to the pool. The local town of Saline di Volterrra, 10 minutes by car, has everything you need from fresh bread and groceries to restaurants and bars. A perfect location for day visits to historical towns such a Siena and San Gimignano or beach days along the coastline which also offer sail boat excursions. The small hamlet of Montecatini Val di Cecina is not too far and for those who like trekking there is a path from the house which leads up to it from the property. The Friday market and views are a must from there also the restaurants are great for a night out.

Lucca, Pisa & Lunigiana
Average weather
Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
