Our view

With serene sea views from the exceptional swimming pool, and a beach with water sports just a stroll away, this is an elegant luxury villa in Sardinia, well placed and wonderfully welcoming.

In brief

  • Splendid beaches nearby
  • Splendid sea views
  • Large private infinity pool

About the villa

Set in softly undulating lawns, dappled with shrubs and trees, Mar Azzurro combines an innately relaxing atmosphere with lovely social space, indoors and out. Designed in understated island style, with décor and furnishings in crisp white and bright aqua blue, the villa’s split-level living area has an airy sitting room, with SKY Cinema TV and doors to an open garden terrace; and a rustic-chic dining room, adjoining the cheerful country kitchen. The fresh coastal feel continues in four charming bedrooms, all with French doors on to the gardens, the master suite complete with a full bathroom and private shaded patio.
And outdoors, a beautifully furnished covered terrace has seating and dining areas and a built-in barbecue; steps lead up from here to the infinity swimming pool, a full 18metres long, served by a pool house with shower room; and a second outdoor stairway climbs to a romantic little roof terrace with panoramic views. Cook service could be added for an extra touch of luxury, and Mar Azzurro is just a five minute walk from the Hotel Romazzino, where villa guests are welcome to enjoy facilities including the beach, water sports, bars and restaurant.

About the area

Sardinia

Average weather

Italy’s second-largest island lies 230km off the Italian coast—and feels very different from the mainland. Stubborn independence has a long history here: the Romans never managed to quell the islanders, and in the 14th century Eleanor of Arborea fought for freedom from Spanish rule. Away from the buzz of Cagliari, the seafood restaurants of Alghero, and the glitz of coastal resorts such as Porto Cervo, it is a traditional place, with a slow, Mediterranean rhythm of life. But if you like getting active, on land or water, then a villa in Sardinia provides the perfect location for your holiday.
