About the villa
Perfectly picturesque Porter’s Villa is a remarkable property with very spacious rooms and set in a small private estate in very extensive lawned gardens. The villa is a one-storey retreat with an authentic wing that features coral stone and the original architecture on the exterior, as well as a modern wing that was more recently added to create a more spacious home. A sunken entry off an extensive front driveway and garden with mahogany trees bids welcome to a cozy yet chic and contemporary interior. The original wing of the home comprises the master suite and the living room, both of which have tiled floors and large windows that create a vibrant, sunlit ambience. The master features a king bed, air conditioning and a fan, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a single vanity, a glass-walled shower and a secondary entrance that leads into a hallway with a large wardrobe. The master also offers views of the villa's lush gardens and driveway.
The living room is a comfortable area in which to relax complete with calming, modern décor, a large comfy settee, a study table and cable television. The living room then opens to the newer wing of the home, which includes the dining room, kitchen and the remaining two bedrooms. The dining area is the pièce de resistance of the home, with quasi-rustic décor including a large metalwork chandelier, marble floors and a semi-open-air ambience thanks to its open design that flows into a small garden. It features a wall designed entirely of wooden shutters, and then it opens and flows directly onto the corridor that leads to the other two bedrooms in one direction, and to the villa's entrance in the other direction. This corridor's design features a wrought iron gate wall, which leads out into a small garden with a small, elevated lily pond. Elsewhere within the incredible gardens there is a fantastic pool and adjacent covered terrace area, furnished for dining and relaxing with its very own bar and a separate small gym. There is also a chapel. The beach adjacent to Colony Club Hotel and a French bakery is within walking distance. A fantastic choice for those seeking a very comfortable and private property.

St. James parish runs along the central stretch of the island’s west—the Platinum Coast. Its white-sand beaches are backed by luxury hotels and villas including Sandy Lane, long patronized by royals and film stars. The seaside settlement of Holetown is at the centre of the parish: its bars, restaurants, and craft shops have a laid-back, local vibe. The Holetown Festival each February, one to catch on a St. James holiday, celebrates its status as the first British settlement on Barbados, with live music and a street fair.
