This lovely hotel in the heart of Paxos clusters round a pebble beach, providing undisturbed relaxation, unpretentious comfort and uninterrupted sea views – well placed for the island’s attractions. Sheltered in a pretty bay, its chalet-style buildings sprinkled in the shade of pine and olive trees, the Paxos Beach Hotel reaches right to the water’s edge with only the sweep of pebble shore separating it from the sea. Its bridged swimming pool overlooks the bay and thatched sunshades add a tropical feel to the ample terraces and open-air bar. The rooms and suites are furnished with attractive simplicity, each with a balcony or veranda and most with a view of the sea. Friendly, informal and family-managed, the hotel serves Greek and continental cuisine in its popular restaurant, and has tennis and table tennis within the grounds. Waterskiing and windsurfing are available in season, as is small boat hire for exploration of the island’s unspoilt coast. Back on dry land, the colourful port, historic buildings and busy main square of Gaios are just a fifteen minute walk away.
