Our view

With a poolside pergola overlooking the sea and temptingly tranquil tropical gardens, this is a lovely villa in the heart of Grenada’s L’Anse Aux Epines peninsula, wonderfully set at the water’s edge.

In brief

  • Stunning location
  • Splendid beaches nearby
  • Beautiful pool

About the villa

Surrounded by colourful gardens which stretch down to the sea, this charming villa is comfortably sized for a family of six, equally popular with couples, and makes a romantic retreat just for two. An eight metre free-form pool takes pride of place in a sun-soaked, sea-view terrace and pretty gazebo. A series of steps leads down through the grounds to a water’s edge sundeck and jetty, and an elevated garden gazebo is perfectly placed for peaceful lounging or balmy evening sundowners. The villa itself it light and airy, with high ceilings and cool tiled floors. Attractively furnished in pine and rattan, its white walls are splashed with colour in a collection of paintings by local artists, and its three air-conditioned bedrooms include a master suite which has a hot tub on the balcony and a four poster bed. Cook service could add an extra level to effortless leisure here.
In the unspoilt Coral Cove area, Villa Ixora is a fifteen minute drive from shops, restaurants and markets in St. Georges, five minutes from a sandy beach, and ten from tennis courts.

About the area

Grenada

Average weather

The most southerly of the Windward archipelago, and lying north of Venezuela, Grenada is a jewel-shaped, volcanic island. The interior is made up of rainforest-covered hills that rise to 840 metres at Mount Saint Catherine’s peak. During the colonial era, it changed hands between the French and the British numerous times, remaining British from 1877. Grenada gained independence in 1974, but many of the place names you will see on a Grenada holiday are still French. Another features of the island is its numerous waterfalls, including Concord Falls—a trio of cascades—and Annandale Falls, which has a plunge pool at its base.
