Our view

With a maritime feel, an oceanfront setting and a cool, contemporary style, this is a lovely villa, at the heart of Barbados’s west coast resorts, and an innately cheerful choice for a family holiday.

About the villa

The soft sands of Mullins Beach are just to the north, Holetown’s bars, restaurants and arty shops are 4km to the south, and great golf at the Royal Westmorland course is a couple of kilometres inland, so the sunny and spacious Still Fathoms boasts a brilliant location, made even better by the clear blue ocean meeting the shore by the garden gate. A decked walkway leads from here to the villa’s refreshing plunge pool, passing loungers on the beachfront lawn, and a spacious covered terrace, stylishly furnished, gazing out to sea and adorned with a whimsical mural of an underwater world.

A full window wall links this al fresco living space to its indoor version, a cool and comfortable sitting room replete with big sofas, cable TV and WiFi. And the villa has a sleek kitchen in gleaming granite, bright white and brushed steel, though inclusive cook service may make this little-visited by guests. All of the five bedrooms are on the upper floor, individually designed and including king size and four-poster beds, tropically toned fabrics, big beautiful bath/shower rooms, and two rooms with sizeable balconies and uninterrupted sea views.

Security deposit of USD 1,500 will be debited from a credit card on arrival to cover incidentals and any damages.

St James

Average weather

St. James parish runs along the central stretch of the island’s west—the Platinum Coast. Its white-sand beaches are backed by luxury hotels and villas including Sandy Lane, long patronized by royals and film stars. The seaside settlement of Holetown is at the centre of the parish: its bars, restaurants, and craft shops have a laid-back, local vibe. The Holetown Festival each February, one to catch on a St. James holiday, celebrates its status as the first British settlement on Barbados, with live music and a street fair.

Late departure: should you wish to guarantee a late check-out after 1200 hrs on departure day, an additional charge may apply and staffing arrangements may vary. In the event that the villa cannot accommodate a late check out, day passes are available at other facilities. Please enquire on booking.
