Area Supervisor Corfu

Elina Thaw

Born in Oxford and lived mainly in Birmingham until i decided to move (part time initially to Corfu). I followed my dream of working within the travel industry from the age of 19 firstly in Tour Operating, Aviation and then as a Representative for CV Villas on Corfu. My position can be very challenging at times (especially working in the heat) but the rewards of meeting the CV guests and ensuring their holiday's are the best they have ever experienced, more than makes up for this. Every day is different and i could not think of anything i would rather do.

Describe the perfect day in your destination?

Waking to a glorious sunny day, having breakfast on the balcony, looking out over the ocean. Relaxing around the pool and then an afternoon siesta before dressing for a scrumptious dinner in one of the local restaurants.

What are your top travel tips for your destination?

Its advisable to do some homework on your chosen destination. Look at the average temperature, be aware if it may be too hot, has your accommodation got air conditioning. wildlife, are there mosquito's at this time of year, or wasps, you will need to ensure you are able to cope with this. Is the position of the villa in the right place for you, alking distance to nearest restaurants or the beach. Whatever is important to you for full enjoyment of your holiday, ensure you know the answers.

What local cuisine would you recommend to people staying in your destination?

Greek salads are my favourite as the taste cannot be replicated anywhere. Try some of the Corfiot dishes such as Sofrito, melt in the mouth veal in a garlic sauce. Grills such as souvlaki, peices of Chicken or pork dripping with fresh lemon juice. Vegetarians need not worry as there are many dishes available, made from local Greek vegetables.

What experiences would you recommend to our customers in your destination?

On the water is one of my favourites. Hire a captain or captain yourself. Visiting the local beaches, stopping off for a lunch and a swim in the crystal clear waters. Take advantage of being so close to Albania and take a day trip over to visit Butrint (the famous archaeological site). If you wish to remain in your beautiful villa, hire one of our chefs to prepare, cook and serve you a local delight.
