About the villa

Within easy reach of the Baroque towns of Modica, Ragusa and Siracusa, Mare di Modica is an impressive property privately positioned in a residential area with lawned gardens and mature trees with sea views. The accommodation is divided into two villas set side by side offering cool, comfortable and contemporary interiors. The layout of the accommodation lends itself ideally to several families holidaying together. Each of the nine bedrooms between both properties is beautifully styled in very attractive coastal style and all fitted with air conditioning, and with state of the art shower rooms. The living areas at both properties are set up steps from the pool terrace area with some bedrooms underneath accessed via steps down from the pool terrace. Up to mid June and from September,  the larger property for ten can be rented for smaller groups with the second property remaining closed. 

The unusually large fifteen metre swimming pool is set within the large terrace and there is a large table outside (not shown in the photographs) for dining all together and (optional) cook service. The villa is within very easy reach of a sandy beach at Marina di Modica, a shop and restaurant within 2.5 km and further amenities 6km from the property. Within easy reach of other unspoiled wide sandy beaches, inexpensive and excellent restaurants in the towns, villages and countryside, and an easy drive from Catania airport, and the Baroque towns of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Noto, this is a great choice for those who love to explore authentic corners of southern Europe.

Up to 17 June and from 02 September, reduced prices are available for the main villa for 10. The smaller villa be closed.

Please note that the preferred suppliers for the villa must be used for any additional services. Unknown extra staff are not permitted at the villa.

Arrival from 16:00 - 2100. Arrival from 21:00 - 24:00 subject to prior arrangement and if agreed Euro 50 late arrival fee payable on arrival.  Departure by 10:00. Changeover day flexible but Saturday preferred (minimum stay 7 nights).

And it’s no wonder, with the abundance beautiful local produce available. As in all parts of Sicily, there is a contrast in landscape from the marshland of Vendicari to the rebuilt towns of Noto and Ragusa. Siracusa has a tradition in making puppets - buy one as a souvenir or visit the puppet theatre for some light entertainment.
