About the villa
Set close to the lovely village of Marittima and all its amenities, Corte del Giuggiolo combines classic Puglian stone-built architecture with unique and contemporary interior décor. The villa has expansive gardens and a stone paved sunbathing terrace enclosing the private pool which is overlooked by the private terrace on the first floor. There are numerous outdoor shaded spaces including an al fresco dining table with preparation area. The avant-garde interior design and furnishings of Corte del Giugglio with crisp-whites, vibrant tones and colour-washed walls, contrasts seamlessly with the serenity of its traditional setting. The entrance leads to a large living room and a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table for six, and a spacious double bedroom all with direct access to the covered terrace. An office with sofa bed and private shower in addition to a master double bedroom and shower room en suite, complete the lower level. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and en suite shower room, opening to a private balcony with panoramic views. Bars, shops, restaurants are within a short stroll. If a building can be a symbol for a whole region, then the trullo stands for Puglia—also known as ‘Apulia’ in English. Think of a Puglia villa holiday and those round, whitewashed limestone buildings with their comical, conical roofs always spring to mind. But there’s more to the region that is the narrow heel of Italy’s boot than trullo country around Alberobello. Discover baroque beauty in Lecce, Emperor Frederick II’s mysterious architecture at the Castel del Monte, and total relaxation on a Puglia villa stay in a rural Masseria.
