About the villa
Set on the outskirts of the quiet village of Marittima and all its amenities, Corte del Giuggiolo combines classic Puglian stone-built architecture with unique and contemporary interior décor. The villa has expansive gardens and a stone paved sunbathing terrace enclosing the private pool. There is also a private terrace on the first floor. There are numerous outdoor shaded spaces including an al fresco dining table with preparation area. The avant-garde interior design and furnishings of Corte del Giugglio with crisp-whites, vibrant tones and colour-washed walls, contrasts seamlessly with the serenity of its traditional setting. The entrance leads to a spacios, airy living room furnished with beautiful Italian furniture and a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast table for six. Next to the kitchen, there is also a spacious double bedroom with direct access to the covered terrace and pool area . An office with sofa bed and private shower in addition to a master double bedroom and shower room en suite, complete the lower level. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and en suite shower room, opening to a private terrace with panoramic views.
Bars, shops, inexpensive informal restaurants and further amenities in Marittima are within a short stroll from the villa. If a building can be a symbol for a whole region, then the trullo stands for Puglia—also known as ‘Apulia’ in English. Think of a Puglia villa holiday and those round, whitewashed limestone buildings with their comical, conical roofs always spring to mind. But there’s more to the region that is the narrow heel of Italy’s boot than trullo country around Alberobello. Discover baroque beauty in Lecce, Emperor Frederick II’s mysterious architecture at the Castel del Monte, and total relaxation on a Puglia villa stay in a rural Masseria.
