About the villa
Set in the heart of Lucca’s countryside, Villa Sofia combines traditional style with modern facilities, creating an ideal setting for a family or group of friends. A lovely dining terrace overlooks the private infinity pool, whilst a poolside pergola provides the perfect spot to relax while gazing out over the rolling hills. The ground floor is made up of a classic kitchen with crisp white décor and wooden beamed ceilings, alongside an open dining and seating area, completed by an antique style double bedroom and shower room. The upper level consists of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a shower room all designed in a ‘rustic-chic’ fashion. Encircled by forested hills and olive groves, this property is perfectly private but still easily accessible just 2km away from all amenities, shops and restaurants in Santa Maria del Guidice and only 4km from San Giuliano Terme.
Further informal restaurants are within easy driving distance tucked away in the countryside or in nearby villages. Within 15 - 20 minutes drive, Lucca is an enchanting Tuscan town - strolling through the historic centre, pausing at old-fashioned, cafes, pastry shops and visiting churches and museums is a real pleasure. Florence is easily accessible by train or bus. Sandy beaches are approximately 30 minutes drive away. There are music, cinema and dance festivals in Lucca, at beach resorts and smaller local festivals celebrating Saints days with impromptu suppers and dancing under the stars in the country villages. At Torre del Lago, just south of Viareggio, there is the summer Puccini Opera Festival.

Important Information
The driveway up the villa is 650 m and is not surfaced and there are some steep sections, especially the last 100 meters to the villa.
Arrivals after 200 hrs, will be charged a late arrival fee of Euro 100 payable on arrival.

Average weather
Although they are only 17km apart, Pisa and Lucca instantly feel like different worlds. The former is a lively student city on the River Arno, and has one of the world’s most recognizable monuments: the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Understated Lucca is compact and genteel, ideal for a Tuscany villa nearby, with handsome piazzas that frame churches in the Luccan-Romanesque style. Those on a Lunigiana holiday occupy the Apennine foothills in far north-western Tuscany. It is rolling, blissfully empty terrain whose few inhabitants have cultural links with neighbouring Liguria.
